Bamboo’s potentials are explored by MIT

MIT researchers, together with designers and wood processors from England and Canada, are trying to find methods to turn bamboo into a building product more comparable to wood composites, like plywood. The concept is that a stalk, or culm, can be sliced into smaller sized pieces, which can then be bonded together to form tough blocks-- just like traditional wood composites.
